How to Help with Non-Cash Donations
Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes gladly welcome non-cash donations, including – but not limited to:
These types of non-cash donations are tax-deductible for their full fair-market value. According to the IRS, the fair market value of an item is “the price that property would sell for on the open market. It is the price that would be agreed on between a willing buyer and a willing seller, with neither being required to act, and both having reasonable knowledge of the relevant facts.”
To deduct your donations on your federal income tax return, you must itemize. Follow the IRS reporting rules to assure your charitable deduction.
