Our ultimate goal is to develop a self-sufficient, productive individual. The potential of many of our children is unlimited.  However, we feel that there are certain basic characteristics that are essential to the success of any individual regardless of their ability. It is very important for us to help the child to establish a positive sense of values. These values include, but are not limited to:

    • a positive self-concept.
    • a sense of right and wrong.
    • the ability to face and overcome adversity.
    • to be tolerant of other people and their opinions.
    • to respect themselves and others.
    • assuming responsibility for ones own actions.
    • understanding the importance of personal hygiene and proper etiquette.
    • the acceptance of authority.
    • the recognition of the need for spiritual awareness.

We feel that once these values have been instilled, we can expect each child to begin setting goals and defining methods of achieving these goals. Hopefully, through the  efforts of the houseparents at each of the Youth Homes, our children will begin to recognize the importance of education and training as a necessity for their successful future.

Also, their values should enable them to enter the work force as a responsible adult and worker with a sense of teamwork, with a strong work ethic, and respect for persons in authority.

We expect the acquisition of their values to enhance their ability and desire to enter into a family relationship, if they so choose, with the necessary skills to be a successful spouse and parent.

It is our goal to provide each child with the basic foundation that they can build upon, and that they can expect to face the world with confidence and assurance that they have the ability to become a productive citizen of society.
